Lassen Ale Works

Lassen Ale Works was founded in 2012 inside The Historic Pioneer Saloon. Built in 1862, the Pioneer Saloon remains an authentic survivor of America’s Old West, nestled in the heart of historic Uptown Susanville.

Lassen Ale Works uses a custom-made 10 barrel brewing system that brews 300 gallon batches. The brewhouse and 6 fermentation tanks are located behind glass windows visible in the back room of the Pioneer Saloon, so you can come in and watch our brewers at work.

We regularly produce seven signature beers bearing the names of local landmarks plus special ales like Volcanic IPA, Off the Scale Barleywine, Dubel and Tripel X Belgian ales, barrel aged and dry hopped selections. In addition to being served fresh off the taps at Lassen Ale Works, many of these beers can be found in pubs and stores across Northern California and Northern Nevada, either as draft or bottled beer. Look for the distinctive Lassen Ale Works arrowhead logo at your favorite pub or grocery store, and if you don’t find it, ask them to start stocking it!

The legendary saloon, now home to Lassen Ale Works, features pool tables and shuffle board in the back room, a barbershop in the front and one of the longest bars in the state of California –¬†at 36 feet it is most likely the longest bar in Northeastern California.
