In November, just in time for their three year anniversary, Wildcard will open a new taphouse in downtown Redding’s old Greyhound station at the corner of Pine and Butte. There, they’ll feature many of their signature brews and seasonal favorites, including:
Double Down Red Ale (velvety smooth and packing a punch)
Liar’s Dice IPA (well balanced English-Style inspired IPA)
Grade A Maple Brown (a rich, comforting Autumnal crowd pleaser)
Reason for the Season Coffee Cream Stout (Creamy winter crowd favorite)
Co-Founder and Brewmaster Jeff Hansen’s background is in English ales, having studied the craft at the University of Sunderland in the north of England. Upon returning to our neck of the woods, he and his wife, co-founder and CEO Jenny took a gamble on their passion and opened Wildcard. Their experience abroad led them to a uniquely brilliant brewing philosophy: they seek to blend the time honored, complex English-style malts with our beloved Pacific Northwest’s famous doses of hops for an amazingly balanced combination in each pint.
What to look forward to from them at Beer Week:
Ace up the Sleeve Hefeweizen- (a lightly sweet wheat ale brewed with Real local honey & Fresh Lemon) Liar’s Dice IPA-the stalwart standard
Dumb Luck Black IPA (in which a series of errors in the original brew resulted in an excellent beverage)
