Case of the Monday’s at C.R. Gibbs

Oh Monday, you brutal yet necessary part of my week. However, this Monday was a bit different. I headed over near lunch to take in the all-day happy hour with a crispy pesto sandwich and a frosty Ballast Point Grunion Pale Ale – a crisp and light beer with plenty of flavor to match up to the rich pesto spread.  My fellow writer Kalli chose the beer cheese soup and egg salad sandwich paired up with the Hop Valley Sai Blond – a light and fresh wheat brew without the heavy wheat flavor.IMG_9903_edited

The results? I was stuffed with half a sandwich and took the rest for later, and I definitely finished that beer. I left ready for a post-lunch nap under my desk, but I powered through the food-coma and after work came back for a few more pints on the patio – (Fall River’s Kilty Pleasure and Speakeasy’s Prohabition). The covered patio was cooled with light misters that held the temperature at bay as we forgot about the day and enjoyed a slice of life.IMG_9899_edited

This little piece of Monday relief was exactly what we needed to get past the longest day of the week and C.R. Gibbs provided the perfect backdrop with amazing food, plenty of friendly staff, and of course ice-cold beer. Come by and check out what they have on tap (hint-it’s a lot), and while you’re at it enjoy some of their incredible plates (like the fish tacos!).IMG_9919_edited
